Shadow

Shadow, from Belgium, returns after bringing us unique shows last year, which merged Butoh and shadow puppetry with self-suspensions. She has been experimenting with tying things other than people meanwhile, so we will be asking her to bring along her latest creations. This multi-talented lady will also be sharing her knowledge in the workshops and presentations.

Shadow is an artist who likes to explore the wealth of human emotions by means of her ropes. She works with male and female partners and has been performing at major events such as

She took part in projects conceived by Berlin Choreographer Felix Ruckert in 2008, and has since been working on projects with performers from various disciplines. She is currently working on blending her signature self-suspensions with an approach to movement which finds its roots in taqijiquan and butoh principles. Another ongoing project involves working with stones collected from various places. She also offers workshops on the creative aspect of rope work, based on the exploration of the physical and emotional connection with one’s partner.
